if life gives you lemons

I made my first lemon meringue pie a couple of weeks ago. It was actually fairly easy to do and it turned out perfectly. Question: do you refrigerate lemon meringue pies? hmmmm...seems like after I did the meringue wasn't as fresh and fluffy. Perhaps this means that pie should be eaten in its entirety at one sitting? Maybe I missed something in the creation of the meringue? Any bakers out there--do tell.
