A few new tees are up in the shop and guaranteed they'll put some cool in your hot summer days. Our backyard is a picture perfect setting for a quick photo shoot and don't you know I loves me a photo shoot. Nicole and our newly named Lola are the *stars* for the tee appropriately named "hot dog"...don't the colors just look like summer?! Her turban is made from a cut-off Target tee but the trick is it needs to be made from modal. No hemming required and super comfy to wear.
My first SUMMER weekend! Lots of things going on in our town as well as a kickass sale my t-shirt company is having today which leads to a shipping department frenzy...love it! Enjoy your weekend and grab some sunshine. *seriously; how cool is this shot?! might be a little nervous as the model but so worth the end result.
if you've got them...flaunt them. The trouble with the start up of warm weather and showing a little leg is having to use a self tanner which inevitably I smell no matter the fragrance...ugh. Why is it that lately I feel as if my thighs are melting into my knees?! When did this happen? It's interesting that no matter your age you will always find some fault with your body but the ironic thing is that ten years from now you always think how great you looked.
we have a feeling it's going to be a very good week. Summer officially starts on Thursday for me. Lots of extra sleep and no time schedule sound beyond fabulous about this time of year. Husband and I are taking a quick trip to Phoenix this afternoon to pick up a very special someone...can't wait! What's going on with you? Any plans for the 3 day weekend ahead?
Are you ready for the weekend? It's been a crazy busy week but thankfully the last week for teaching for the school year! Husband and I are having great expectations for Monday...but more on that later. Have a happy day.
I rediscovered my Juiceman juicer tucked away in a lower cabinet and feel like I have found the fountain of youth (that may be overstating it but you do feel really great after a couple days of juicing it) Throw in fruits and veggies peel and all,and out comes a delicious, healthy, vitamin packed beverage. Here's a couple that I've tried and gave a thumbs up: #1 1/4 of a honeydew melon 1 lemon 4 stalks of celery 7 carrots 1/2 a sweet potato inch of ginger #2 coconut water 4 stalks of celery 6 carrots 1 lemon (rind and all) 1/2 honeydew melon 3 apples 1 inch of ginger root
SO funny. Kristen Wiig (from SNL) is my new girl crush and great to see Rose Byrne (from Damages) in such a different role than the dramatic characters we're used to seeing her as. Melissa McCarthy is hilarious. Go see it. *thanks to Anita for the recommendation!
We took a quick trip to Phoenix today where it was 100°...cray cray crazy. If the temps are rising in your neck of the woods then shake up this quick and refreshing cocktail to cool off~
2 oz of tequila
1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 oz of dark agave nectar
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice; shake for 5-10 seconds. Strain and serve in a cocktail glass, or pour into a highball glass.
Notes: Dark and light agave are both delicious, but dark is sweeter and a bit more complex. If you can't find dark agave or already have the light stuff on hand, you may need up to 3/4 of an ounce for the perfect combination.
(original recipe uses a reposado tequila-Corralejo- but we used a clear Jose Cuervo+ lime+3/4 oz light agave nectar- and it was great)
My mouth dropped when Andy Cohen asked if the rumors were true about the price paid from Jim Beam for Bethenny's Skinnygirl cocktail. She said she couldn't give "real" numbers but smiled when Andy said that $120 million is what had been circulating...holy margarita...that's a lot of limes.
One night during the *husband and wife* casual cocktail hour; the subject of flowers came up. The details are foggy but I remember stating that it was the gorgeous peony that was my favorite and if it's not around...don't bother. I saw husband scribble something on paper (perhaps something like "she don't like no flowers"?!) and really thought nothing of it since. This week while we've been soaking up our gorgeous weather, husband announced that he has been researching a special gift for my mother's day. And what did he think up? A peony plant for our back yard! Our gardener and florist friends gave him suggestions and I'm crossing my fingers for a few gorgeous blooms. Ever tried your green thumb with peonies?
Hand written letters. Talking on the phone. Voicemail. Email. Texting. My husband would rather give someone a call to discuss whatever whenever. I'm an emailer for quick notes and business, but enjoy the telephone for lengthier conversations. What do you use most often to connect with friends and family?
