when your best friend is not feeling well; YOU'RE not feeling well. Our poor pup has went through an upset stomach a week ago and is on the other side of a miserable vestibular syndrome (think of your dog having vertigo). Hoping for smooth sailing for the holidays.

As a "once upon a time in another lifetime" art teacher I have a soft spot for children's art. The honesty, the joy, the "I am what I am" about it all --BUT-- what if you took one of your kid's masterpieces and *ahem* made it better?
What if you added a little color here or some background there--you'd hold on to that sucker for a lifetime instead of two weeks on your refrigerator. And that's just what Summer Hopkins Myers at A Fine Doodle does for you and your wee little artist.
A Fine Doodle is an acrylic painting based on your child's original drawing. Send her your child's artwork and she will reproduce it in vibrant, hand-painted acrylic. The child's drawing will be returned with the finished product and you've got yourself a one of a kind piece of art or gift for the artist or their adoring entourage of relatives.

My school district gives teachers the day off on Wednesday so we are thankful for an extra day to shop and prepare the feast ahead. Here's to a safe, joyful start to the holiday season. Are you traveling? And more importantly; are you setting your alarm clocks for Friday morning?! This girl will be snoozing, but best of luck to you and any deals you may grab.

"Of course I have the list! Have I ever forgotten anything for our Thanksgiving dinner?"
"well...there was the pumpkin pie that one year..."

We're sliding into that time of year when we wish there were more than one of us. Holiday get-togethers, real life, parties, shopping and so much more...try not to pack your schedules too tight and enjoy each moment if you can. I think I'll be up in the attic and down with the decorations this weekend...how about you? Happy, Happy!

I'm guilty to having it quick and easy as much as the next person (think microwave popcorn) but this weekend we went old school. Popcorn kernels, pan, and pop it yourself. WOW. The Black Jewell popcorn has far fewer hulls than other popcorn out there and is more easily digestable and tastes great. This popcorn + your latest Netflix movie= a great night!

After two years of wearing my little plastic Invisalign retainers 20+ hours a day...I am officially done (during the day...nighttime is still a must to keep everything in place). Truth be told it was one of the easiest cosmetic procedures I've ever done and my teeth are as close to *perfect* as they can get. Smile!

you know you want to. Looking into another woman's closet is eye opening and almost feels a bit *naughty* if you weren't invited in. Lucky for us, the door's wide open to take a peek into the lives (and closets) of some lovely ladies at Jeana Sohn's blog.

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.
This weekend was spent learning how to put photos into a slideshow along with music and snippets of video. Research is a bear when you're going through it but a good end result always makes you feel like you learned something to pass on.
I used Animoto which is super easy and allowed video along with pics and they basically create something for you to enjoy. Another good one for pics and music (no video) but it creates a larger screen to watch is photopeach.com

um...of course! It's called "timing"...the perfect time to wear it, show it, and not cause too much of a discussion...just a compliment or two. Try buying a pair of vintage french leather chairs and keeping them in back of the car for a day or two...he ended up loving them...but; it's called "timing".
