Demi Moore
Kathleen Turner

Susan St. James
What do I have in common with these 3 ladies of television and movie screen fame? I am dealing with a sinus infection leaving my voice (for a few days) with the the husky, sexy, breathiness of these lovelies. To be honest, most people that know me just tell me "you sound sick"--so, maybe it's not working.

Plan A

Our goal is to be homeless...but in a good way. We just put our house on the market and as crazy as that may seem--we're ready for the "what if" factor.
What if the house sells and we have lots of extra cash and no home? Where will we live? What if we moved to France for a few months? Lobster rolls on the East Coast for a year? Australia sounds nice. Always wanted to check out Oregon.
Of course, we need to sell our home to make all this happen.
So, if you've been thinking about moving to the Southwest and would like a one-of-a-kind, very cool, "how could you move from this" sort of home--give me a buzz and we'll start talking about YOUR "what if".

wine-oh

I love the reds but am starting to get headaches a few hours after enjoying a glass or two. Is it me? Is it the wine? Do I switch to whites? Or, do I just enjoy a couple Ibuprofen with my glass of Merlot?

Play by the rules

Here's the deal. There's the "regular" grocery store checkout line and the "express/15 items or less" checkout line. If I'm in the "regular" grocery store checkout line, I don't feel that I should be expected to give Mr. Two Items a "go ahead and cut in front of me" pass...but I will every once in a while.
The unwritten rules of the checkout line are that if you're going to be lap dancing the cart in front of you, gripping ever so tightly onto your bacon and carton of milk and the person in front of you is so inclined to let you "cut"to allow her some breathing space; you better have cash and you better make this snappy. After all- I'm letting you cut instead of strongly suggesting you go to "express line/15 items or less" line like other normal people do.

You would think that all "please let me go ahead of you" people would KNOW these rules. Not so for my Mr. Two Item guy.

I allowed him to "cut" and when he's checking out he started breaking the rules. No cash and after he gives grocery store clerk every known phone number he's had for the last five years to save 20cents in coupons...he decides to sign up for grocery story coupon card.

That's it. No more cuts.

Fountain of Youth?

Sometimes you try something new just to add a little "wow" to your daily skincare routine. Chances are you might forget about it a few weeks later if it doesn't truly delight you...but not this time. A quick 411:
"Kaeline products are based on the rare and legendary oil from fruit of the Argan tree. Grown organically in Morocco, and harvested by all-women cooperatives, Argan oil is one of the richest sources of vitamin E on the planet. Its unique combination of plant sterols, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants work miracles on the skin. Non greasy, it penetrates the skin quickly leaving only the feeling of silk. Kaeline’s organic pure argan oil can be used as a fast absorbing daily moisturizer, to a healer of acne, as well as to alleviate other skin problems, a deep moisturizer for hair and scalp or use to put a beautiful non oily sheen after blow-drying. Soak your nails in it and watch them get stronger with the healthiest cuticles ever."
When I first tried this I was a little hesitant. My dermatologist has said that my oily skin will help me look like I'm 60 when I'm in my 80's (thanks Doc...I don't think I'll be worrying about my skin then, but good to know)
Using oil on my face wasn't on the top of my skin care regime...and then I tried it. It DOES absorb easily, non greasy, and my much younger hairdresser (who is a sun worshipper and Botox purchaser) is always amazed at my clear, wrinkle-free complexion (for the record...yes, I have wrinkles. But no- they don't seem to be permanently engraved at this time!)
If you're wanting to try something different- go for it. You might be a believer as well.

Gaga over Lady Gaga

Replay.Replay.Replay. I've been walking more with our wonderful spring weather and am constantly hitting the replay button on this one- especially on the steep hills!

Does this vintage make me look old?

When I was in my twenties I was all over vintage clothing. I loved beaded frocks from the 1920's along with Victorian white slips to wear in the summer. 1940's power dresses were packed in my closet along with Marilyn wanna-be 1950's-60's halters and wiggle skirts. I didn't think twice about wearing them in my daily life.
Now, when I see other bloggers talking about this vintage site or that eBay vintage clothes seller, I immediately click over to check it out. And then, inevitably, I am disappointed.
I am realizing that when you're in your twenties--you really CAN wear just about anything and look adorable. When you're wearing a vintage top or dress --you either look way cool and hip or just adorable that you're this doe-like creature in this over the top fashion. Go for it!
Unfortunately, and I hate saying this, because I can remember thinking I never would--when you're my age, you need to pick and choose vintage carefully. A "secretary" bow blouse is going to look amazing on a fresh faced lamb--but would just age me.
I love the quality of true vintage clothing and the ideas that are born in the past that create many of today's fashions. I just don't want to look like a Mrs. Roper on Three's Company.

Life Tee

Loving this shirt from Etsy seller printliberation. The kids loved it at school during their state exams (being a test monitor--mine should have read "wake up!" as it was a slow, clock watching process for the adults!)

In-n-Out

I know. It's so bad but really...so good. Their french fries...love. And I delight in the fact that I see the hard at work, freshly scrubbed, back to the future 1950's worker cutting the potatoes as I slowly do the drive through thang to collect the steaming hot, salty, and just what I'm craving french fries. Along with my Diet Coke.
