Leona Lewis
My new girl crush is for Leona Lewis. Is it that the songs are so good or is it her amazing voice that makes me love everything she does?

Top Design Eddie

One of my favorite contestants on the show is Eddie Ross from Martha Stewart. He's so talented and has such a great eye. I even like him more than before since Simply Selata turned me on to his blog. Fabulous! He is so inspirational for a nudge in the ribs to go to the thrift stores, the flea markets, and the tag sales to find your style at a great price.

No stretch marks, no jiggles, lots of wiggles. Her dancing partner said that the only thing they have to worry about is Brooke's short term memory...I suppose we have that in common.
I call the years of children growing up the "brown out years". You knew they happened and my children are now adults to prove it- but it's all a little foggy and a little fuzzy. Good luck with the dance steps Brooke.

Who are you?

BUT--that all changed when I saw these adorable, amazing masks on Pretty Little Things website.
They are so cute- and how fanciful and fun for the day when others dress up like hookers, french maids, catwoman or some other cheap trick outfit. Thank you Lori Marie for bringing the fun back into dressing up.

POOF!

Yes, this is real. Have you heard about it? Have you used it? From the website:
Imagine this: You are dating someone new. He/she invites you to a romantic, home-cooked dinner at his/her place. After dinner, the curry he/she took the time to make for you is not sitting well. What do you do?Or imagine this: It’s five minutes until your 9:00 a.m. board meeting. The coffee you had to wake you up starts to churn. You enter the restroom and see a bunch of your co-workers gabbing. What do you do?Poof it! Just a few drops of this liquid deodorizer in the toilet water and a translucent seal traps your odors in the water, releasing a refreshing scent of Japanese Mint to fill the air!
Created for the sophisticated and bathroom conscious, Poof is packaged in an appealing yet discreet bottle that easily slips into your purse, pocket, or the palm of your hand. One drop of Poof will forever change the way you do your business!

Pay It Forward

This is going to be fun and I hope you all will participate. Trina over at the wonderful blog la la Lovely did a recent post about paying it forward and doing something good & kind for others without expecting anything in return. I was lucky to be one of the recipients.
The way it works is simple. The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive something special in the mail. However, if you are one of the first 3, then in turn you are asked to post this information and then pay it forward by sending something special to 3 others bloggers.
The "something" does not have to be costly but rather thoughtful, pretty and sure to bring a smile to the recipient. It can be something you bought, found or made.
If you'd like to join in .... be one of the first 3 people to leave a comment & then please just be willing to link back to my site, post the details and then pay it forward by sending something special to 3 other people.
I am a true believer that it is far better to give than it is to receive--but what fun to be gifted a trinket and know that someone is thinking of you!
So let the fun, begin... just leave me a comment and the first 3 that respond will receive a little something special from me (due to postage costs, this is only open to those in the U.S. - sorry)! It will be fun for me to check out YOUR blog, learn a little bit more about you--and figure out what special delivery to send!
And Be Good to People Everywhere!

Vintage
When I was in my 20's (and that would be in the 1980's) I loved and wore vintage clothes all the time. There was a fabulous boutique in Scottsdale, Sweetest Charity, that sold vintage clothes in immaculate condition. Unfortunately, I sold or gave away all the goodies I had bought there...what a child I was...they were so fabulous. Many of the clothes remind me of the gorgeous pieces in My Favorite Vintage-- I'm loving the 1930's evening gown..fabulous!
I only wish you could see these pictures from the 1980's of me and my vintage!(click on them to see a little closer) This was a navy gabardine 1940's dress with the coolest buttons that buttoned on the diagonal. Can you believe I did the beret? How funny was I?
This one is from 1985--my hair! My husband looks like a high schooler! We were going to some fancy schmancey ball and I wore a dress from the 1920's- peach silk with white hand stitched beading all over it! I remember I was so fearful that the beads would come off in my chair the entire night!
So, I'm actually feeling like I'm not losing my entire memory...just a few parts here and there (see post below) Word to the wise--take pictures- it helps clear out the fogginess!

whatever happened to--

I contacted another friend of mine from high school who seems to recall everything during those years. She tells me that I can call her my "holy keeper of the memories". She could actually tell me anything and I just might believe her..."and don't you remember when we ran across the field naked? or when we shaved our heads?" I'm a basketcase for those years.
Memory friend regaled me with stories about my relationship with cheerleader friend...I had no memory. No "aha" moment. I told her I need to be the PSA for staying clean and free from recreational drug use during college years. I can remember a few moments during my four years of high school but at reunions...fuggedaboudit. Who knows? Maybe having no memory of teenage angst is a good thing.
