at last

heading into fall

we love the feel of crisp, cool mornings which can only mean that fall is slowly peeking around the corner. Keeping superbusy at school and at my other home here so posting might be light for awhile.

gone fishing

Husband went fishing the other day and came home with quite the big fish(our dog, Zoe, was not too sure what to think about such a thing). Unfortunately I don't really dig fish caught in the wild with all the bones and such but husband,Zoe, and Gabby the cat said it was delicious. Happy weekend everyone!

queen for the day

I went to my dentist today and thought I was going to need a crown (goodbye $1200) but he did the coolest "biomimetic" procedure, a minimally invasive process where he saves the tooth and rebuilds it with a composite. Now,instead of an ugly silver filling that was there in need of rX, I now have a beautiful pearly healthy tooth--for $130 (after insurance). I hope your dentist is into the latest and the greatest...going in next week to have another silver filling and tooth built up to beauty.

toast

Welcome to the end of the first day back with a schedule; trying to remember hundreds of kid's names that seem to remember mine; and realizing that midnight is not the optimum bedtime hour during the school year. Toast. Wow. Let's hope it gets easier each day to get back into the routine.

first day

Although I'm dreading the early wake up call--I just know how excited the kids are to go back to school (atleast at elementary age). Do you remember your butterflies?

dog days

They are here. Those "oh my god I don't think I can take another day of this sweltering heat and when is fall going to come so I can wear some really cute clothes and bundle up and eat soup" days.

it's not that big of a deal

Lots of teacher's meetings before school opens its doors to the kids on Monday. I find it fascinating how changing up one or two things can cause people to go into a panic. We're not talking about changing world currency or what side of the road to drive your cars on...these are changes to the elementary school lunch schedule that get the teachers I work with to wring their hands and feverishly take notes...wtf.

confession

Just started walking back to school with the iPod dancing in my head and yes...so true...I am almost sure I sound like Lea Michele (our beloved Rachel Berry from GLEE). Broadway here I come.
