Five superfoods every girl needs on her grocery list. I can check off 4 out of 5 on most days but never knew about the *bonus* of red beans (but will be adding them to salads starting tomorrow!) What about you?

We're closing Friday up by walking into town to grab a couple slices...



Tomorrow, both husband and I have hikes planned...neither will be as adventurous as the posted pic but enjoyable none the less. Hanging out with a girlfriend (for me) and the archaeological society (yawn) for him.

And Sunday looks like a matinee day. I love matinees...it feels like you're "cheating"; like you're doing something decadent. Plan is to see "Date Night" with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. What's your weekend look like?

The kids at my school are doing state tests this week.
Administering the rules and regulations to fifth graders is like a truth serum for declaration of any and all electrical appliances that the kids are not supposed to have ("I admit it...I have a cell phone in my backpack...and an iPod too..is that okay?should I put them on your desk?" ).
There was a moment while reading the scripted test rules for the sixth time in three days that I wanted to add, "Bueller" "Bueller"...but, considering I would be the only one to giggle; I held it in.
BUT--the good news is that it is an AMAZINGLY wonderful sunny day and everyone seems to be mellow and relaxed during recess and any free time they are given. At present, I plugged in a little "Beatles" on Pandora , opened a few of my windows, and am enjoying the rays until the bell rings and we start the testing treadmill tomorrow.

I am so enchanted with these two. The blonde you might recognize as Brooke White from American Idol (last year? two years ago? whenever..she was on it) and the brunette is Summer Bellessa, founding editor of Eliza magazine (which, to be honest...never heard of...but now I'll look for it at the local Barnes&Noble) They've also got a website which is just adorable here...let's just face it; they're just over the top cuteness.
The idea behind the show is a good one. Be entertained while being informed and enlightened--the smart girl talk show. Let's see where it goes.

We all have our favorites from Food Network and Ina Garten is mine. I love her. Everything (seriously) EVERYTHING I have ever made from any of her recipes turns out fabulous. These salmon cakes were no exception. Easy to prepare, lots of great ingredients and delicious.

If you're a fan--don't you just love the way Ina and Jeffrey adore each other?? They are too sweet.
